About Tracey

When people ask who I am or what I do, the answer is multifaceted: I’m a therapist, life coach, and author deeply committed to exploring growth, transformation, and self-discovery. My work spans therapeutic depth and creative action, blending the wisdom of Jungian principles with modern, actionable tools to guide individuals toward living their most authentic lives.

I’m not your typical Jungian or depth-focused scholar tucked away in an ivory tower. In fact, I’ve always brought my unique perspective to the table. For example, in graduate school, my thesis, The Genesis of Shame: The Fig Leaf of Fashion and its Place in Psychotherapy, explored the Genesis Garden of Eden myth and the unconscious and conscious connections between clothing and shame. And yes, wearing leopard pumps to my internship at the Jungian Clinic in Chicago wasn’t exactly the norm—but it reflected my belief that being who we are is a vital part of transformation.

I am passionate about dreams—both the ones we have while asleep and the ones that propel us forward in waking life—and the wisdom they offer us. I love uncovering myths in modern life, making the timeless archetypes of figures like Homer’s Odyssey or Greek mythology relevant to today. I’m just as likely to analyze an episode of Seinfeld from a Jungian lens as I am to reflect on ancient narratives. Discovering Jung at 16 and reading Memories, Dreams, Reflections felt like finding home—a moment that profoundly shaped my life and career. This inspiration led me to Pacifica Graduate Institute, where I began my journey as a Jungian-oriented therapist, a path I have followed for decades, helping clients explore the depths of their inner lives and navigate meaningful change.

In addition to therapy, I offer Depth and Mindset Life Coaching, which is not about treating mental illness or focusing on pathology. Coaching allows me to guide clients beyond healing into actively creating their most fulfilling lives. It’s about helping people who are ready for profound self-examination and actionable steps to turn their desires into reality. Through my practice, Legendary Life Coaching, I help clients bridge inner exploration with tangible growth, weaving depth psychology into creative and goal-oriented strategies.

As an author, my books reflect my passion for making depth psychology and personal transformation accessible. My writing allows me to connect with readers who are eager to explore the hidden layers of their lives and embrace their own hero’s journey.

Beyond my professional life, I’m known for my ready laugh, occasional (enthusiastically used) swear words, and grounded approach to life. I live with my husband, Keith, our West Highland Terrier, Buckley, and our Mini-Golden Doodle, Ellie. My horse, Legend, not only inspired the name of my coaching practice but continues to guide its spirit. Horses have a unique way of offering profound insights, and I often use horse analogies in my work—they’re powerful, relatable, and surprisingly impactful, even if you’ve never been on one.

My mission is to help others reimagine their lives, drawing on their own memories, dreams, and untapped potential to create a new chapter. Whether through therapy, coaching, or writing, my work is rooted in the belief that we all have the capacity for growth, transformation, and creating our own Legendary Life.
